YW Camp Fundraiser Silent Auction brings out LOTS OF FAMILIES!

What a great night for food and fun! There were lots of great auction items up for bid along with delicious bbq chicken and beef sandwiches, potato salad, chips and YUMMY chocolate cake with ice cream. No wonder so many families showed up! Here is what the night looked like:

Cub Scouts meet Trees and Leaves at Pack Meeting

For this months Pack Meeting, Sis. Driggs and Sis. May arranged with Cub Master Bro. White a great night full of coloring and decorating family trees. The night ended with yummy sugar cookies decorated like leaves, but tasted much much better! Awards were postponed until next month. Also, we are still planning to plant a tree for the scouts, but are awaiting approval from the association. Here are some photos from the evening:

I spy some norton children working on their family trees!

I spy some Heller kids working on theirs too!

Here is our great Cub Master, Bro. White and his lovely wife, Cheri

I spy some McLaws and Driggs kids working on their trees as well.

Here is Sis. McLaws and Sis. Driggs helping their families to complete their projects

Here is one of our favorite cub scout leaders, Sis. Britton.

I spy some Davis kids with a Fulps kid while Sis. Davis helps them to create their family trees.

Here is the Castlegate Ward Time capsule that was presented at the meeting.

Here is a broader look at all who attended

Sis. Merkely stands to help the color guard get started. She is another one of our favorite Cub Scout Leaders!

Here is another view of some of the cub scouts listening to Bro. White talk and give a cheer. Sis. Davis and Sis. May do their best to keep things under control!

Sis. Merkely helps again with the scouts.

Here is Bro. White entering the room as Kenny the Park Ranger. The squirrels love him because they think he's nuts! (his joke he told the group)

Young Women travel back in time (1950's to be exact!)

The Young Women had a blast with their dad's and leaders for the Daddy Daughter Date Night from the 50's. They had great food and lots of fun. Between the bottles of vintage soda, playing jacks and seeing the poodle skirts and cats eye glasses, we got confused and forgot that it was really 2008!
Here are some photos showing the great fun that was had!

The cute beehives with their leader Sis. Heller

All of the Young Women that were able to make it. No matter what decade they dress in, they will always have such shiny, beautiful smiles!

The leaders get a chance to pose for the camera too.

The photos of the dads and daughters are going to make fun keepsakes for the girls to treasure! Thanks to all the dad's, girls, and their leaders for their patience while the photos were being taken.
Here are a few of the funny, memorable poses from some dads and their daughters:

Mariah Bellamy had fun with her cousin Ronnie Michaels (who is also in our ward) What a ride they look like they are on!

Amanda Oakes looks a little nervous with her dad (Bishop Oakes) on the big bike!

Justine looks suspicious as Matt Lawes gives her bunny ears. Very Funny!

Kelli Rimmash does great blowing bubbles with her gum. Her dad Peter, not so great. Nice try though!

Cayli Yost and her dad Chad give a thumbs up for the night!

Priesthood Commemoration (Fathers & Sons)

May 2 and 3rd was the annual Priesthood Commemoration outing (Fathers & Sons) up north. The boys and their dads along with the rest of the men that came had loads of fun! Between visiting the fish hatchery, jumping bikes and making hobo dinners, there wasn't a clean face in sight! Just what the men aspire for, right?! Here are some snapshots of the outing:

Here are some of the dads gathered around the camp sight visiting while their sons are (look below) off playing with each other..

Here is an example of what those kids do while the dads visit. Looks fun! It involves wheels and dirt!

Here are the Hipp's boys sneaking in a smile for the camera (Jacob Flake was the designated Photographer for the trip)

A little game of rock, paper, scissors is great for killing time. Cade Welchman and Ty Moser seem to have the hang of it in the back of Danjee Mosers truck.

I spy some Davis', Pearson's and Brittons! Looks like they already found a game to play that involves taking swings.

Notice all the varieties of coolers on the table. Who knew there were so many different kinds! In the background we see Bishop Oakes chatting with Danjee Moser (the truck is a dead giveaway!)

Go ahead, make their day! Looks like Bryce Oakes is taking in some target practice. Tym Britton gives us a great face in the background! Funny Boys!
Thanks to Jacob Flake for capturing these fun moments on the outing. We look forward to seeing what next years outing brings!
